Requirements
  • eVisa at evisa.rop.gov.om
  • The unsponsored tourist eVisa (subtypes 26M/26N/36M) is itself conditional: the applicant must hold a valid Schengen visa, or a valid residency or multi-entry visa for the United Kingdom, Australia, the United States, Canada or Japan — the same document the 14-day exemption turns on.
Notes
MFA "second group": the 14-day exemption is conditional, so the safe default status is eVisa and the conditional exemption is carried in exceptions. Mexico moved here from the unconditional 14-day bucket on 2026-08-24. 2026-09-08: the eVisa requirement was sharpened after querying the ROP public eligibility wizard — for INDIA (not a GCC resident) it returns 12B, 26E, 26F, 26G, 26H, 26M, 26N, 33A, 36F, 36M and NO 26A/26B, the two unconditional tourist eVisas, whose published condition 104 is "must be a citizen of one of the Group1 countries". Controls the same day: GERMANY returns 26A+26B, PAKISTAN returns 12B only, MOROCCO matches India. The bucket is not homogeneous — EGYPT returns neither 26A/26B nor 26M/26N, so Egyptian nationals have an even narrower set than India and Morocco; splitting Egypt (and re-testing the other 20 origins) is open work for the visa lane.

Special rules & exceptions

  • Nationals of these 24 "second group" countries qualify for Oman's 14-day visa-free entry if they hold residence in, or a valid entry visa for, the United States, Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom, a Schengen country or Japan, or hold GCC residence in one of the professions that qualify for the resident visa.
  • Where the 14-day facility applies it requires a passport valid for at least 6 months, a return ticket, a confirmed hotel reservation, health insurance and sufficient funds; the 14 days cannot be extended or converted to residence.
  • A spouse and children travelling with a qualifying visitor benefit from the same facility even if they hold another nationality.
  • Without that third-country visa there is no unsponsored tourist eVisa: the remaining routes are a sponsored tourist visa (subtype 6B, needs an approved Omani sponsor), a family visit visa (subtype 4B, filed by a relative resident in Oman), or a dependant subtype (26E/26F) entering alongside a qualifying main applicant.
