Notes
The 14-day bilateral tier, added 2026-09-16. Cambodia and Myanmar appeared nowhere in this entry before that date and fell through to the eVisa catch-all, which told both nationalities to buy a Thai eVisa they do not need. The MFA Department of Consular Affairs publishes the tier in its bilateral-agreement list for ordinary passports: 14 days for กัมพูชา (Cambodia) and เมียนมา (เฉพาะท่าอากาศยานนานาชาติ) — Myanmar, international airports only. Two copies of that list were fetched on 2026-09-16, dated 24 February 2025 and 12 December 2025, with identical tiers, so it is republished rather than amended. Myanmar was wrong for as long as this entry has existed: it is on none of the exemption or visa-on-arrival notifications, so the bilateral agreement is its only visa-free route. Cambodia was shielded until 14 September 2026 by the repealed 60-day scheme, which gave it more than this, and is wrong from 15 September. The agreements survive the notifications because those repeal two named Ministry of Interior notifications of 15 July 2024 and say nothing about bilateral treaty exemptions; TAT states the same, that bilateral arrangements continue to provide 90, 30 or 14 days. Open: the MFA list states the period and nothing about purpose. allowedPurposes here follows the 30-day and 90-day bilateral buckets, which rest on the same list; a traveller entering for business should confirm with a Royal Thai Embassy first.

Special rules & exceptions

  • Myanmar nationals hold this exemption only when entering through an international airport. At a land border a visa or a border pass is required.
  • Any paid work, including remote employment inside Thailand, requires a work permit.
